Ailie im Wunderland 2 - 15. Kapitel

In the last month there was the famous Festspiel ("Festival Play", the Wagner Opera Festival) in Bayreuth, and therefore lots (just lots, don't compare it with the scale of the huge Chinese "free travel" crowd in Hong Kong...) of tourists came around the city. I am not interested in getting a ticket, but just hang around some sightseeing spots that I hadn't been. This time I went to the Fantasie Palace, the to the Buergerreuth near the Operahouse and fly some air-pumped plane.

The trip is 'sponsored' by the German friend PJS, of driving his legendary Volvo 'Smoereboerd' Estate (which looks exactly like a car of funeral home), as well as of his air pump plane .

Flying air-pumped Plane in Buergerreuth

I like the red colour of this Italian restaurant right facing the meadow.	Although flying a plane is a nice experience, the day was simply so hot that I gave up after several test fly....

So just let Mr. PJS demonstrate how to make this stuff fly. First you have to pump in air by using the special pump....	Then hold the poppeller of the plane, and face against the wind....

And let it go!	PJS took this photo, claimed that it is the proof of his superb parking skill....

What's About: Bayreuth was a resort city for princes and nobels when Bayern was still a country of its own (remember the German history we learnt about Prussia, von Bismark etc!), and many of these summer castles are still there, but now for tourists. Don't ask me who was living there etc as I am not very interested in these...

And this big meadow in Buergerreuth locates right behind the operahouse, and is the beginning of several hiking and bike trails, including the Hochtheta I mentioned before. PJS consider here a perfect place for flying his air-pumped plane, as the meadow give a perfect soft-landing without crashing the plane (as on hard cement ground). Sure people can fly kites, radio-controlled plane etc there too.
