Ailie im Wunderland 2 - 5. Kapitel

What I can tell you about summer in Germany is, that people are crazy about sunshine, and they are sooooo eager to stay under the sun, as long as possible. But actually I cannot really stand with the weather of 36°C and around 50% humidity. That's just like somekindof grill. You cannot help yourself from getting tanned -- and I think no (crazy) whitening stuff can help.

So, as they get sick of snowy or rainly weather, they spend the whold summer to have all kinds of celebration, such as the Buergerfest (Citizen Festival) I show this time.

Maximillianstrasse becomes the superbig Biergarten
They closed the whole street and turned it into a big big Biergarten. Actually Maxmillianstrasse is the center of activities in the downtown.

And you cannot image this is a Sunday scene, as normally just a few people getting out on Sunday.
The Middle Age (not so)Fast food
On another side of the downtown there has a Middle Age Market, there people can try all "Middle-age-styled snacks", like this Coupe-like stuff (actually we have this often from Japanese bakery!). And another type of "pizza"
Grilled meats! Now is the typical season for grilling in Germany. Good company with grilled meats: Met (some sort of alcoholic drink)
Hemp bakery-- will not make you high... Or try some honey?

Or you can have you DIY version of breads...

What's About: Around June and July most cities in Germany (or Bavaria?) have this Buergerfest. Every Buergerfest has different themes, like the one in "my second hometown" Regensburg, they were celebrating the 30 anniversary of it. Here they have the theme of Middle-age market, plus some other regular stuff: rides, sweet stuff, beers -- in short, it is an excuse to boost up the boring life and the sliding down economy. But well, it is always good to have something to celebrate, right?
