Ailie im Wunderland 2 - 3. Kapitel

Last week I was busy moving to Bussardweg (the street name of where the student quarter locates), and so my weekly budget suddenly out of control. But anyway most things got fixed, with many thanks to the weekend fleasmarket from Red Cross and Caritas, as well as some budget stores (something like the $10 store in Hong Kong) :)

And in my Online Diary you will see that I am still concerning about the situation of Hong Kong. But it's really hard to do anything in remote.... except sending some masks home.....

So in this issue you will firstly see the scenery of Bamberg, the place where they call it 'the German Venice', then take a look to my nice place.

Bamberg
This is the famous river city scene taken from the New City Hall! And you will see this nice blue-sky-and-red-roof scene when going up to the hill
I don't really know who he is, but this big head stands at the end of the bridge... This is the building for media studies of Uni-Bamberg, where my friend Naoki studies in.

And I had a nice breakfast with this even nicer Japanese couple Aco and Naoki!

Internationale Studentenwohnanlage Bussardweg
This is the Student Quarter.. it is comprised of 3 buildings, and with a block of common facilities in the middle. A room with a view...

This is what the room is when I moved in...
... and it is what it temporarily looks like, after some 'home improvement'....
Normally I will not do serious cooking in my room, but going to the common kitchen... I use the hotplate here normally for making a tea or boiling an egg. And this is the Bathroom...
The Internet Room with free access to some popular sites, and viewing sites out of the pop list should be paid... This is the Common Kitchen, with access to the entertainment rooms in the basement, internet room at left, and laundry room at right.

The laundry that cost 1 Euro per load.

What's About: Bamberg is another city in Oberfranken (Upper Franconia) of Bayern. It takes about an hour by train from Bayreuth to there. My friend Aco and Naoki live there as Naoki is studying Journalism in the University.

And for Bussardweg, it is definitely not near to the Uni, and it takes about 20 minutes by bus in between. And even a bit exhausting by Bike... I tried it on a weekend... it took about an hour and ride many times up-and-down the slope... but the good thing is the rent is pretty cheap here. For a room of about 150 sq feet the rent is about 120 Euro (ca. HKD $1,000) per month, including heating, electricity, surfing internet in the common room.

It's welcomed to send me a postcard, here is the postal address:

Next Update: I will take some pics of the University, and try to update it around Easter... as the school term start this week, it would be a bit busy to me, as I have around 20 hours of lecture to go per week, plus my translation job and so and so.
